Greetings & Welcome,

I’m Dr. Aneesah Muhammad, Psy.D., M.B.A., a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Maryland. I work with individuals, couples, and groups to strengthen conflict management skills, navigate difficult conversations, and improve both mental and relational health.

My approach blends evidence-based practices with the Idea-Focused Approach to Conflict Management, a psychosocial method I developed to help clients gain insight and develop skills that they can use in and outside of the therapy space.

SERVICES

I am now enrolling for the following groups:

1. Dr. Muhammad's Support/Discussion Group for Therapists/Counselors specializing in Relational health.
A psychoeducation/discussion group for counseling and therapy professionals. This group provides guided discussions about how social and professional messages influence our work satisfaction and relationship satisfaction. This group is a supportive space for reflection and connection.

2. Dr. Muhammad's Support/Discussion Groups for Women, Centered on Interpersonal Relationships
A non-therapy group for women seeking a reflective space to explore personal and interpersonal relationships. Participants engage in guided discussions on how societal and cultural messages shape relationship satisfaction and individual well-being. The group fosters self-reflection and group connection. This is a support and discussion group, not psychotherapy.

3. Dr. Muhammad's Psychotherapy Groups/Discussion Groups, Centered on Interpersonal Relationships (Maryland Residents Only)
This is a licensed therapist-led psychotherapy group in Maryland. These sessions focus on understanding how social norms and cultural messages influence their mental and relational health and that of group members.

I also provide individual therapy (for Maryland residents only) -JOIN THE WAITLIST.

Individual therapy is a welcoming, non-judgmental, and encouraging space where I assess where you are and what your goals are. Then we collaborate and build strategic plans that you can use to improve relationship satisfaction and well-being.

FAQs

What is the difference between support groups and psychotherapy groups?

Support Groups:

These groups are a safe, welcoming space to connect, reflect, and learn from others. We explore general well-being, relationships, and personal growth through guided discussion and shared experiences. This is not therapy, and no individual treatment is provided.

Psychotherapy Groups:

These are therapist-led sessions for individuals who want professional support for emotional, relational, or mental health challenges. We work together to identify patterns, explore challenges, and develop strategies for personal and relational growth. Sessions are confidential, structured, and follow professional therapy guidelines.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Not at this time. All services are conducted virtually via a secure video platform.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance, but I can provide documentation (a superbill) for potential reimbursement. You’ll also receive a Good Faith Estimate as required by law.
